Annette K. Ashaba

Program Advisor

Annette brings a wealth of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), child protection, health systems strengthening, government and NGO capacity strengthening, M&E, and strategic partnerships to her role at the Girls First Fund.

Annette has worked in Central and Eastern Africa with a special focus on girl-led projects working to end child marriage. She has also supported approaches to build community resilience and facilitated projects to support formerly abducted children. Annette also spearheaded child-led research to study the circumstances of children who are caregivers.

Annette has aided building capacity for a local government and civil society organization to respond to the needs of vulnerable children. Through a New Partnership Initiative, she provided technical assistance to NGOs across Eastern and Southern Africa. Early on in her career, Annette lived and worked in China as a technical advisor for the China/UK HIV Prevention and Care Projects in China.

Annette holds a post-graduate diploma in Human Resource Management, a MA in Public Health, and a BA in Social Sciences.
