Are you looking to make an impact in a dynamic environment where you collaborate with smart, motivated people who want to make a difference in the world?
Who We Are
Geneva Global is a mission-driven company that helps foundations, organizations, and individuals achieve positive social change through effective philanthropy. We help our clients and partners bridge the gap between aspiration and impact by leveraging twenty-plus years of experience putting philanthropic capital to work in over 100 countries. Our approach blends highly customized problem solving with proven methods to support evidence-driven decision-making.
We’re looking for someone who is interested in learning about the philanthropy, NGO, grant management, or global health sectors and wants to deliver high-quality, customized services to Geneva Global’s clients.
Position and Qualifications
You’ll work closely with the Senior Director of Programs to support a variety of client initiatives spanning a wide range of issues from across technical sectors. These have included areas such as the eradication of neglected tropical diseases, health policy advocacy, social communication for behavior change, and gender and social equity. You’ll conduct research, interviews, evaluations, and support training as well as create plans, monitoring and evaluation tools, guides, and more to help Geneva Global clients strengthen their technical operations, grant-making and management, institutional capacity, and program outcomes, among other aspects.
You’re comfortable and effective working on multiple projects concurrently and are motivated by a combination of short-term and long-term projects. You enjoy project management, drafting, copyediting, and polishing content. You’re a critical thinker who likes to cross the T’s and dot the I’s and are always thinking about how you can best answer the questions that our clients pose.
You’re excited to work on a team where you support projects focused on partnership-building among funders, developing and managing grants and programs, and communications to engage donors. Yet, at the same time, you are self-motivated, disciplined, and can remain highly productive working on your own. Ideally you have experience engaging with international stakeholders and working in international development with experience in global health or some other sector.
You describe yourself as having these skills and traits:
- Able to juggle multiple deadlines and requests from senior staff across multiple projects but confident to communicate clearly what support you might need to complete tasks in a timely fashion
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of your work
- Critical thinking skills to track, manage, and analyze data, both quantitative and qualitative, relating to program design, implementation, and evaluation in specific sectors and broad areas of global development
- Strong editing and formatting skills and the ability to put the final “polish” on documents, presentations, and other deliverables for our clients
- A desire to be a team contributor to long-term projects and a commitment to meeting the short-term needs of clients in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills to support clients, team, and stakeholder engagements and communications
- A strategic thinker, able to articulate clearly the dimensions of a challenge or task posed by a client and to elaborate, organize, and enact clear steps to address the challenge
- Enthusiasm for learning and career growth in the fields of philanthropy, fundraising, and/or communications
You have a bachelor’s degree and 2-6 years of professional experience, experience working as an intern, or similar. You’re skilled using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, and may also have used Publisher, InDesign, or Salesforce.
If you’re interested in working on-the-ground directly with grantees or on specific programmatic issues, then this position is not a fit for you. Rather, you will be excited to partake in a variety of topics and tasks that can be fast-paced and sometimes out of the blue. You will have limited domestic travel and likely no international travel in this role. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available.
