Listening to What You Need

Collaboration and trust guide our team, which is also deeply experienced in family dynamics and cross-cultural factors. We are comfortable facilitating complicated discussions and decisions. We partner with you, raising critical questions and helping you assess the trade-offs between the different choices.

With expertise across the sector, we can give you insight into what other individuals or families (like yours) are doing—and recommend approaches that fit your priorities and goals. How we support you will depend upon what you need, want, and expect to achieve. Here are some examples of the range of roles and supports we can offer, from strategy and advice to administrative assistance.

  • Philanthropy advisor and family facilitator. We can bring your family together across generations to articulate and explore your mission, shared values, and issues you want to tackle. As you make major moves in how you give, we’ll help you weigh the options and set up the structure that works best for you—whether finding the right host for your donor-advised fund, launching a fully staffed grantmaking organization for yourself or alongside like-minded peer donors, or streamlining a new venture through our fiscal sponsorship services, offered by our sister nonprofit.
  • Grants officer. Building an end-to-end grantmaking strategy means designing a thoughtful, clear process to research key issues or areas of interest, review inquiries and potential grantees, make confident decisions, and evaluate your impact and learning.
  • Board liaison. We can help manage your governance responsibilities, from scheduling and meeting facilitation to guidance on important issues and decisions.
  • Operations specialist and support staff. As administrative needs grow and shift, our experienced team members can cover staffing gaps, offer back office and internal policy support, track your giving, and arrange learning visits with grantees.
